This post is serving as my I-haven’t-updated-in-almost-a-month update, so it will contain a hodgepodge of things that I have been up to lately.
I’m getting married in a month
I can’t believe how quickly the last 11 months flew by, Appan and I are getting married in 4 weeks. Whoa. Even typing that is giving me anxiety. Anxiety because I feel like there are still so many things to do and I don’t have enough time to do them all! I’ve been releasing my anxiety and stress by attending classes through Classpass; continue reading for my brief take on Classpass.
Appan and I recently did a video engagement shoot and I was able to do my makeup trial with the makeup artists who will be doing my
hair/makeup the day of the wedding. What is a video engagement shoot, you ask? Well with Indian weddings, the wedding videos end up looking extremely epic Bollywood-esque, so this shoot is for the same-day edit that will be shown during the reception. A same day edit is a video of the previous day and wedding events shown during the wedding.
On the left is a pic of my makeup in the chair during my makeup trial, and on the right is my full outfit! I can’t wait to see how the video turns out 🙂
Bridal Shower
During August my wonderful sisters and cousin threw a bridal shower for me at Cork Wine Bar. Some of my cousins, aunts, and friends were able to make it and it was so much fun! We drank wine, ate some appetizers, and played some games.
Bachelorette Party
My “friends” bachelorette party took place in Vegas over Labor Day weekend and it was, needless to say, absolutely amazing. This was my 4th time going to Vegas and I can’t ever seem to get enough. I love the glitz and glam, the shows, and the atmosphere. I’m not going to say much about what we did, because as we all know, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but let’s just say our trip included night clubs, pool parties, and a bachelorette suite party complete with hilarious games.
I joined Classpass and I’m officially in love
In January of this year, I had the opportunity to join Fitmob for free for a month. Fitmob was recently acquired by Classpass within the past few months, but they were essentially the same concept. I felt like I had already gotten a good feel for how Classpass would work through FitMob, and over the past few months I had this incredibly urge to attend classes again. I was getting bored with my at-home workouts and was feeling unmotivated.
My friend is a huge proponent of Classpass so I would always see her Snapchats (shoutout Natasha), which made me want to join even more. I finally joined a couple of weeks ago and have not looked back since. I plan on creating some Dallas based studio review posts over the next few days to highlight the ones that I absolutely loved.
I moved out of my apartment and into my parents’ house
If you’ve taken a look at my About Me page, you’ll see that I mentioned that Appan and I bought a new townhouse. The townhouse was set to complete in August, but unfortunately, that did not happen. As with most new home construction, our closing has been delayed several times.
Construction was originally set to complete in July and we were to close on August 24th, however it was delayed to September 16th, then October 16th, and now we’re looking at a close date of late November or early December.

Looking at the empty apartment
This is quite an unfortunate setback because we had originally planned that I would move out of my apartment and straight into the townhome, and then Appan would move in after we got married. So in the meantime, I moved back to my parents’ house in Plano and put some of my stuff in storage next to the townhouse.
While I have no problem living at home and love my parents very much, the commute time has quadrupled and I am no longer near all of these awesome studios in Dallas and can’t take the morning classes like I prefer. I still work in downtown Dallas so my plan is to take evening classes since I won’t be able to shower at most studios.
So this past Saturday was spent packing and moving the entire day, making trips to the storage unit, and taking some food breaks in between. It was exhausting and I absolutely hate moving.
Those are just some of the updates that have been keeping me busy over the past few months. Now I hope you can understand my lack of posts… 🙂
Not to worry everything will be just fine. All the best!!
