Hi there, it’s been a while.
The past 10 months have been a personal whirlwind, and as a result I have neglected this blog. I was questioned why I still want to renew this domain, getting comments like “do you even write any more?” My response was always hopeful… one day… one day. Well my beautiful readers, today is that day.
Over the past 5 months I have unfortunately not been able to work out to my normal degree due to medical reasons and it has been absolutely killing me. However, because I’ve been feeling a ton better, I’ve been able to go back to my beloved Barre Code studio. I was even able to attend an amazing Dallas Fitness Ambassadors event last week which included a challenging yet relaxing class from Corepower Yoga.
Upon arrival, we checked in and were given these super nifty portable headphones where the instructor’s voice was playing in front of some upbeat music. (Picture above courtesy of Jess at Jess Runs Blessed).
I have to admit, I was super nervous to attend this event because I had been avoiding doing yoga for months and months due to my neck and headache issues. The combination of the beautiful weather, the upbeat music silently streaming through my silent disco headphones, and the therapeutic yoga poses made me fall in love with yoga again.
In fact, I am so inspired to start practicing yoga again, I actually bought a Groupon for a yoga studio near where I work, woo hoo!
The event itself was a celebration of Dallas Fitness Ambassador’s first year anniversary and it definitely did not disappoint! I hadn’t been able to attend any events put on by DFA for the past year but was able to make it to the anniversary party and I’m soo glad I did!
There was a facial station, a smoothie station, light snacks, skinny margaritas, and of course a dessert bar full of cupcakes and cookies provided by Unrefined Bakery. I found myself hanging out at the dessert station for far too long. :/
All in all I am so glad I got to attend and reconnect with local Dallas bloggers I haven’t seen in quite some time. This event officially serves as a catalyst for the rebirth of my blog, so look forward to more posts in the coming weeks/months!
This was such a fun event! I hate that we were in the same space and I did not get the opportunity to meet you!
I am so happy you are well again to workout! Glad to see you back on the blog! I need to do the same. Great review of the anniversary party
I’m glad that you’re feeling well enough to work out again. Neck injuries, even the lightest ones, can be really scary and it’s hard to know when it’s safe to workout again. I’m glad that your Disco Yoga was a good experience and that you’ll be able to have that “Me” time again.
Welcome back to the world of blogging! I’m happy that your love (and ability) for working out was renewed with the DFA event – it’s often so easy to neglect being active for so many reasons and it’s something that’s taken for granted far too often. So when medical necessity prevents you from actually doing so, then only do you realize how “good you had it”. In all.. happy you’re back on the wagon. (:
im so happy i got to meet you!!! and please continue writing 🙂
So much fun! Welcome back! I am sad I missed the event, it looked great. Everyone had such a fun time.
Loved reading your post! So glad you were inspired to take up yoga again and had a great time. We tend to underestimate what our bodies can do.
I completely agree. I had been avoiding it for months even though I was told multiple times it would be good for me!
I’m so glad that you were able to make it to the event! I look forward to seeing you at future ones. Sometimes life happens and it takes longer than we expect to push through. But I’m glad you made it out on the other side and I hope you keep getting better and better!
Thank you Ginger, I really appreciate it! 🙂
I am so glad you are blogging again
Thanks for being my number one fan. 🙂
